I begun a new series of acrylic paintings. 

I am excited about bright colors like pink and lime and viridian green.

These details are abstract but the works will be in a way pictures of a woman.

The 14th of February, St Valentine's Day, is celebrated in Finland as Ystävän Päivä (Friends' Day), and holds none of the romantic conotations as it does in the UK and USA. It is simply a day to send cards to friends, and to wish each other 'Happy Friends' Day'

Lace of life/ elämän reikäommel

Hangella näkyy äitini tekemä reikäommel, sydänverellä kirjailtu.

Tinakulhon kuvio toistuu saveni valannassa, sen värit ovat kuin helmikuu. 

Sängyn päädyssä on meidän maiseman merihorisontti, tuijotamme sitä haaveillen kesästä.

Auringon tarkka piirto leikkaa esiin iän tuomat uurteet hetkeksi unohtuneisiin hedelmiin.

Memento mori, kaiken katoavaisuus, muistan sen. Ja memento vivere, muistan eläväni, ennen kaikkea.

Lace, made by my mother, long ago, remains me of snow of February as well as the forms and colors I made in clay.
In the end of the bed there is the horizon and we remember summer.
The brightness of the northern sun has no mercy on the forgotten fruits.;

The Month Of The Pearls/ Helmi Kuu

 

 

 

 Helmikuu on helmi kuu:
hangilla timantteja ja helmiä,
valo joka hemmottelee,
aurinko, joka ei lämmitä,
tietoisuus siitä että kevät tulee.

Viitisen vuotta sitten tehdyissä keraamisissa veistoksissa olen käyttänyt
raku/punasavea, raumanpitsiä ja  ruostunutta rautalankaa.

Rauma lace 
Last year

February - in Finnish helmikuu =  pearl month - is full of light.

It is bright, sunny and very cold ( right now -20C!)
I see pearls and diamonds in the snow... 

It would not surprise me to meet a snowfairy, there is magic in the air.

The art works are made several years ago. I made them of clay, lace of my old home town and thin, rusty iron wire.
