Pääsiäistä / About Easter

Jääkaapissa valkosipulimarinadissa lampaanviulu ja tekeytymässä valkosuklaakakku, toivon että aromit pysyvät erillään.. seuraan merijäätilannetta ja ehkä jo sunnuntaina vene saadaan vesille..

hope the garlic does not end up as the flavour of the cake..
I also do hope that we are able to get to the sea and our summer cabin on Sunday.

The doors of paradise

I was happy to see art from renaissance to today:

many masterpieces of the renaissance.

Angry Young Men , an interesting exhibit of the modern masters Dali, Miro and Picasso.

Damien Hirst, the famous contemporary artist, amazed and puzzled me with his art: a scull covered with diamonds.

The golden doors of the Baptistery of the Duomo are intrigueting.

Michelangelo has said that they are worthy of paradise.

We queued to the Uffizi gallery only for 45 min., usually that takes for 2-3 hours..

There were several street artists at work in front of the musem.

A charming museum of Marino Marini showd Marini´s wonderful, hilarious and touching sculptures.

Oli upeaa nähdä taidetta eri aikakausilta:
renessanssin tunnettuja teoksia,

modernismin mestareita, kuten näyttelyssä Vihaiset nuoret miehet: Dali, Miro ja Picasso
sekä hämmentävää ja hämmästyttävää nykytaidetta, Damien Hirstin timanteista koostettu pääkallo.

Michelangelo on aikoinaan sanonut Duomon kastekappelin itäisen ovien olevan kuin portti paratiisiin.

Niitä oli kiinnostavaa tutkia ja ihmetellä samalla perspektiiiviä, jonka taiteilija Ghiberti tuli samalla keksineeksi.

Katutaiteilija valmistautui päiväänsä jonottaessamme Uffizin museoon. Jonotusaikamme oli vaivaiset 45 minuuttia, kun siihen yleensä on varattava 2-3 tuntia. Liput voi myös ostaa etukäteen, mutta nyt oli kulttuuriviikot Firenzessä ja Uffiziin oli vapaa pääsy ja jonotettava oli.

Kuvanveistäjä Marino Marinilla on oma pieni museo. Hauskaa on hänen huumorinsa ja ja taidehistoriasta kumpuavasta ilmaisustaan, jonka hän oivallisesti tuo nykyaikaan.
