Being Frida

Thank you Patrice for the fascinating theme for this week´s DC ( Drawing Challenge ): 

FRIDA

This time I wanted to have fun and play and dress up, pretend being Frida Kahlo one moment.

I suppose Frida and I have something in common:

strong eyebrows, dark hair, being a painter.. and yes, 

I also do have some wounds, although they aren´t as visible, severe and overwhelming as Frida`s.  Anyway, I think being aware of fragility in  life makes me an artist.

Addicted to nets - as an expression of a fragile connection between people, nature and mind.
At the monent I am also fascinated about the earthy colors.

Olen verkon ja pitsin lumoissa.
Ajattelen ihmisten välistä yhteyttä, ajattelen ihmisen ja luonnon yhteyttä, ajattelen mielen ja ajatusten haurasta, helposti murenevaa rakennetta.
Ja maavärit, ihanaa sekoittaa itse pigmenteistä ja mediumista,  mmm...

 There are both chaos and order in my art process. 

Let´s see where I´ll end up when this process with matchboxes, dots and windy-day-chaos is finished.

Sisterhood & Letters

Old letters and a postcard with  a picture of Miss Finland 1945

My grand mother ( mother ´s mother ) in the left with her sisters

letters to my grandma from her sisters and a very old picture . I do not know who those children are..

Fluently(?!?) about letters, grandmothers, sisters, traveling, diaries and gardens.
And pictures of clay..

This is how it goes:

I found some old letters  to my grandmother from her sisters.
They tell about some tragedies and joys of life.
Letters are intimate and written with careful handwriting and language.
They are  close pictures from the past and show the love and care taking between the women.
....

I hardly remember any letters written with my poor handwriting.
It is sad, really, only to write short messages via phone, e mail or FB.

I found no letters of mine but I found some old travel diaries from the 80´s (!) instead.
 That was  the only time in my life writing a diary
I was excited traveling across the Europe and seeing many wonderful places
I have loved traveling ever since that trip.

And some of you, my dear blog sisters, live in those countries and  cities we visited.
So I ended up to think and thank YOU, all my blog sisters,
for the the blog connection and friendship!
...

ps. The page of the diary in the picture below  is about the gardens in Hamburg.
That  made me put the garden- flower- clay- face picture there, too.

Ei hassumpaa/ Not too bad

-Uskallatkos lähestyä rantaamme, haukkui vahtikoira.
-Uskallatkos haukkua pesämme lähettyvillä sähisi isäjoutsen. Molemmat pörhistelivät.
Lohi loimusi ja Leena-kahvipannun kylki kiilsi auringossa. Ei hassumpi viikonloppu.

The other son with a dog was visiting Rauma on a sunny and warm week end.
-Don´t you dare to come closer barked the dog
-Don´t you dare to bark near our nest, hissed the daddy swan.
Salmon on the open fire; not too bad:)
Ps. The old desingn coffee pot is called a Leena-pot :)
