Raumanmeri 16.-17.6.

Meriaiheinen näyttely Santtiolla Pyhärannassa. Esillä on mökkinaapurimme Jorma Viitaniemen upeita puukkoja ja pienoismalleja laivoista sekä
 valokuvaaja Esa Urhosen taidokkaita laiva- ja meriaiheisia valokuvia.
Viimeisesssä kuvassa kynttilälyhtyyn kiinnitettynä pienoismalli saaresta, jossa mökkimme on:)

Sisterhood & Letters

Old letters and a postcard with  a picture of Miss Finland 1945

My grand mother ( mother ´s mother ) in the left with her sisters

letters to my grandma from her sisters and a very old picture . I do not know who those children are..

Fluently(?!?) about letters, grandmothers, sisters, traveling, diaries and gardens.
And pictures of clay..

This is how it goes:

I found some old letters  to my grandmother from her sisters.
They tell about some tragedies and joys of life.
Letters are intimate and written with careful handwriting and language.
They are  close pictures from the past and show the love and care taking between the women.
....

I hardly remember any letters written with my poor handwriting.
It is sad, really, only to write short messages via phone, e mail or FB.

I found no letters of mine but I found some old travel diaries from the 80´s (!) instead.
 That was  the only time in my life writing a diary
I was excited traveling across the Europe and seeing many wonderful places
I have loved traveling ever since that trip.

And some of you, my dear blog sisters, live in those countries and  cities we visited.
So I ended up to think and thank YOU, all my blog sisters,
for the the blog connection and friendship!
...

ps. The page of the diary in the picture below  is about the gardens in Hamburg.
That  made me put the garden- flower- clay- face picture there, too.

Sateinen sunnuntai

 

Helsingissä on aina kiva käydä.

 Kaupunki on kaunis, kiinnostava ja  kuvauksellinen. 

Se on myös surullinen kerjäläisineen ja laitapuolen kulkijoineen.

Poimimme taidenäyttelytarjonnasta 

palan historiaa:Ateneumin Helene Schjerfbeck -näyttely,

palan nykypäivää: Forun Box:  Goman, Ollikainen, Törmälehto sekä 

Amos Anderssonin Carnegie  Art Awards -näyttely.

Kurkistimme hiukan myös tulevaisuuteen ja siihen mihin kuvataiteessa ehkä ollaan menossa: Kuvan kevät, Kuvataideakatemian lopputyönäyttely Kasarmikadulla.

Helene Schjerfbeckin näyttely on rakennettu aikajärjestykseen. 

Siinä havainnollistuu hyvin taiteilijan kehitys naturalismista modernismiin. 

Aikajärjestys on helppo tapa ratkaista ripustus: 

selkeä, muttei kovin omaperäinen tai uutta näkökulmaa luova. 

Näyttelyssä on hauskasti maalauksista poimittujen lehmuksenvihreän, laventelinsinisen ja lämpimänkeltaisen värisiä seiniä, jotka onnistuneesti korostavat maalausten hienovaraista ja harkittua värimaailmaa.

Aina niin koskettavien omakuvien lisäksi oli hienoa nähdä myös taitelijan piirustuksia, taidetekstiilejä sekä maalauksia, joitten takapuolelle oli jäänyt näkyviin taiteilijan hylkäämä, "pilalle mennyt" maalaus. Siinä näkyi hyvin hänen tinkimättömyytensä ja itsekriittisyytensä.

Nykypäivän pohjoismaisia huippuja on esillä Amos Anderssonin taidemuseossa.

Ansaitun ja ylivoimaisen "voiton" vie Heikki Marila. Hänen  mykistävät, valtavat kukkamnaalauksensa sekä mehukas ja monipuolinen otteensa maalaamiseen osoittaa,

 että maalaus on voimissaan toisin kuin välillä kuulee väitettävän.

Samaa todistaa Forum Boxin näyttely. Samppa Törmälehdosta olen ennenkin kirjoittanut ja edelleen fanitan hänen raikasta otettaan ja huumoriaan sekä mehevää maalausjälkeä sekä oivaltavaa aihepiiriä.

Kuvataideakatemista valmistuneitten kolmesta näyttelystä näimme yhden, Kasarmikadun näyttelyn. Siellä suurimman vaikutuksen teki pitsiä, pisteitä ja minimalistista maalausjälkea persoonallisesti toteuttava Henriikka Kivelä. Siitä mihin kuvataide ja maailma ehkä on menossa en osaa mitään sanoa tämän näyttelyn perusteella. 

Mielenkiintoista ja monenlaista on  tarjolla kuitenkin.

Rainy Sunday in Helsinki

It takes two hours to drive from Tampere to Helsinki. 

It is a beautiful, intrigueting city - and also sad because of the beggars in the streets. 

We chose one exhibit about past, two of today´s succesful artists shows 

plus one graduation exhibit of the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki
which may show hints of the future. 

Helene Schjerfbeck´s (1862-1946) delicate portraits of children, the harmony of colors and honest and touching self portaits have  made her the most famous and beloved woman artist in the Finnish art history.

In Forum Box there are on display some both funny and impressive works of Samppa Törmälehto, one of my favorite artists of today. 

In Amos Andersson Art Museum there can be seen works of some of the most succesful artists of Scandinavia, such as Heikki Marila´s huge and amazing flower paintimgs.

Shadow

Norhern light gives me lots of possibilities to take shadow photos-

and that´s what I´ve done both in winter and summer.

The wood cut below looked at first only as a stain 

 but after a while I begun to see it as a shadow image and did not want to change it anymore.

Shadow in the history of art brings to my mind the surrealists .
They often tend to show long mysterious shadows in theis works.

The most famous Finnish surrealist is Otto Mäkilä
( I have written earlier about him in my blog, see here.)
