The theme of this week´s drawing challenge is
nude
Our host is Patrice, see her beautiful blog for all participants.
At the moment I am painting for two exhibitions.
The first one will take place soon, it is a joint exhibition at a little Gallery Ronga in Tampere.
The theme is Celebration ´cause the gallery´s 5th year anniversary.
In August I will have a little solo exhibition in Turku, at Gallery Jänis = Rabbit Gallery:)
Pink Punch is about make up and beauty products and the weird image of women the advertising create. This will be the 3rd PP exhibit.
I combined the two themes, googled images of ´celebration+make up´ ( in Finnish ) and begun to paint on basis of some of the most inspiring/weird/cute images.
The painting seen in the middle is one of the paintings completed so far. The other pics are samples of tones I have been using while painting the skin ( and hair ) and some details of the naked skin I have painted.
Kaunista, harmoniaa!!
VastaaPoistaKiitos Hanne! Prosessi oli keskittynyt ja intensiivinen. Leena

PoistaNice to see how your palette is composed, Eric
VastaaPoistaThe process was focused , maybe that can be seen here, too, Leena
PoistaHi Leena,
VastaaPoistaLuscious colour palette! There's something about a neck that is so beautiful, whether adult or child. Your's is lovely.
All the best to your exhibitions. May you sell lots!
xo Carole
Hi Carole, tere is also a feeling of solitude and absence when a person has turned away. xo Leena
Poistayeah, i like that colour palette, the mix of colours. the result is peaceful, powerful. involuntarily this reminds me of our old dc "hair"... i like it, leena. n♥
VastaaPoistaI wanted to keep the palette quite simple and hope that the ficused Process can be seen from the painting, xo Leena
PoistaI love that you showed us those pictures with your color palette, they look really good! I like the structure in them. And I really love that hair curl in your painting, I always wish I could do that with my hair ;-)
VastaaPoistaI love the colours on your palette! Beautiful.
VastaaPoistaEva, thank you! I do love colors and playing with them:)
PoistaSuper Leena- I was thinking along these lines too- the color nude and all the varieties that skin color can be- I love the bigger implications of this- racially and make up/ beauty for women- would love to see more of this...or at least how it all turns out for your show! very exciting!!
VastaaPoistaHi Kristen, thank you - I do need those supporting words right now ´cause I am in the middle of pre-show-panic right now;) I will post about the exhibits later on, xo Leena
Poistai love the way you mix your colors
VastaaPoistaand the photos of your palette i love looking at
lovely portrait
and
i wish you a wonderful show
Love your palette...such luscious colors & lovely painting!
VastaaPoistaLeena, her hair contains beautiful twisting colourful archetype snakes wound in and around her bun. So lovely. This post reminds me of the painting that Patrice has started. Another bun from the back. Isn't that fun??
VastaaPoistaWell to start this challenge I went to my colour mixing book to the chapter on skin tones to paint the portrait. There are pages and pages and pages and pages of different skin tones with different mixtures, including the high lights and low lights. Differing tints and hues, etc. and so I decided to stay right away from all of that and just use colours I like. I did my nude with blue hair for example. So, for me to view your skin tone mixing on the palette makes me impressed with your efforts. I trust that your shows are going to be so great. Really wonderful. Congratulations to you! *smiles* Norma
Leena, you're making me miss my oils so much, but finally I'm in E and have oils here in my studio so hooray. I love the painting, but I think I love your pallet photos even more. Sometimes magic happens right there on the pallet, doesn't it?
VastaaPoistaGorgeous painting, Leena, and I am with Veronica in saying that these images make me want to rush out and paint with oils again. Sensual!
VastaaPoista-sus
Wonderful colour mixtures! And your painting is beautiful!
VastaaPoistaWhen I see your palette pictures I can clearly imagine the brush going through, picking up the paint and putting it on the canvas in quick moves... ;-)
Wish you successful exhibitions!
What a wonderful painting, I love your color palette and the snakelike hair and the very senstive and vulnerable nude neck! Very lovely.
